NEW DELHI: Leading management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company Accenture is expected to more than double its India employee strength in about two to three years, from around 19,000 at present.Accenture has grown rapidly in India over the past few years, from just about 1,000 employees in 2003. India's growth plans are part of Accenture's strategy to increase presence in Asia, especially Manila and China, with jobs touching 50,000 in two-to-three years, said Keith Haviland, MD of Accenture's global delivery centre for technology.Accenture has opened its 10th centre on Monday in Gurgaon, with 1,100 seats to begin with, said Haviland.
This is the first time the company has looked at NCR in many years of presence in India. It has facilities in five cities — Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Pune, servicing about 200 of its global clients from India.
Haviland said the Gurgaon centre would be a key node in Accenture's global delivery network, offering high quality services to our clients. The centre will provide services in technology areas like Java, SAP, Microsoft.Net, mainframes and testing.
